Collectively as a community we have had our lives changed in the last few weeks. The global pandemic of COVID-19 corona virus has had an impact that will define us all. Seeing people react in connection, love, faith, & hope has been a testament to the best of humanity.
We began procedures to reduce what we brought home while cleaning when Gerrie began chemo in January, including using gloves and a facemask. It provided protection for us and for our clients that enabled us to continue cleaning, once we had confirmed community transmission we, along with Gerrie’s oncology team, made the decision that it was safer for us to be in self isolation. The understanding of us being unable to clean at this time is deeply appreciated.
We have set up a PayPal with our email below for clients to send us support, as well as the ACH option for payment are ways you can continue to support us as you’re able with normal rates or any amount at this time will make a difference.
We will be launching a series for tips during these times - please follow us on Facebook or Instagram to watch, listen, and learn together. Send us your questions, topics, or comments on social media or via contact information below!
We are working on possibly hiring or finding a new partner to continue to provide service for those interested - please let us know if you would be at this time, we understand that everyone’s comfort level is different and would like to provide services to those who would continue. We will continue to self isolate for Gerrie’s health until we have testing available for everyone or no new positive cases for over 2 weeks.
Please always feel free to share any of your concerns during this time where loving each other and our community means taking steps to keep each other safe & healthy - please email firstname.lastname@example.org, text or call Julia at 605.254.5215.
Fundamental to 2 green gals is the health of our clients, their homes, and our world.
Beginning in December, 2 green gals began to implement measures to protect our clients & our self while cleaning during cold & flu season - using gloves & a mask while cleaning as well as leaving shoes outside & using socks specific to the house being cleaned. These were put into place as precaution for not bringing home colds & flu while Gerrie goes through chemo. Now, with the seriousness of the corona virus, these are things we are committed to continuing it as long as necessary. In addition, with the current concerns, we are spraying down supplies with disinfectant and we continue to diligently disinfect commonly touched surfaces (light switches & doorknobs), as well as taking our temperature daily before cleaning (if we are sick we will not be coming into clean and will notify you).
At this time 2 green gals is committed to continue cleaning. We do ask that:
if you or your kids are home that we do not share the same room while cleaning occurs
if anyone in your household is sick or been exposed to COVID-19 to please notify us before cleaning
While we remember this can feel either scary or an overreaction, the choices we make allow us to ground ourselves in community care - if we can minimize & slow down the exchange it benefits us all. Sustainability, something deeply important to us, means sometimes knowing when to slow down or pause and rest. We’re taking this opportunity as a reminder that slowing down to focus on the best way to care for our clients and our community is always the right way to do things. Please check in with your elderly neighbors - we left notes offering picking up groceries or medications or running errands for them, you may be able to do the same thing or find an entirely different way to help.
Lastly, if cleaning services are disrupted we can offer remote support & tips on keeping your home clean during this time even if we can't be there to clean. Here is a link with more information about domestic workers during COVID-19 from Hand in Hand network. We are deeply grateful for the flexibility, understanding, and community we have with our clients.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us - we can provide resources & tips on keeping your home clean during this time.
We will leave you with a poem that has provided peace for us:
What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath—
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and selling.
Give up, just for now,
on trying to make the world
different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those
to whom you commit your life.
And when your body has become still,
reach out with your heart.
Know that we are connected
in ways that are terrifying and beautiful.
(You could hardly deny it now.)
Know that our lives
are in one another’s hands.
(Surely, that has come clear.)
Do not reach out your hands.
Reach out your heart.
Reach out your words.
Reach out all the tendrils
of compassion that move, invisibly,
where we cannot touch.
Promise this world your love--
for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health,
so long as we all shall live.

Gerrie & Julia
Our focus is to improve the health of our customers, their environment, and our world through the use of non toxic cleaning products, air purifying plants, and aromatherapy. We will help make your home a healthy environment for you and your family.
March 20th is the first official day of spring - hopefully we will have warm weather, robins, and green starting to grow.
Remember Sunday March 8th is daylight savings time so turn your clocks forward one hour!
Spring cleaning can include small changes that can make big differences - clearing off counters quarterly, monthly or per visit allows us to clean more thoroughly. You can also still email us if you want to add a spring deep cleaning service to your recurring services - starting at $50 we can tackle areas that you have never thought to clean or have been bothering you (your fridge, under your stove, the front of your cabinets, vents, window sills, etc).
We have been deeply grateful for our clients understanding, flexibility, and support as we navigate our business while Gerrie continues chemo, this business space allows for Julia to provide for her family as well as offer caregiving for Gerrie - thank you for being a part of it.
Please always feel free to share any of your concerns during this time of transition - please email email@example.com, text or call Julia at 605.254.5215.
